Climate sensitivity constrained by C[O.sub.2] concentrations over the past 420 million years
Article Abstract:
The long-term equilibrium climate sensitivity is estimated by modelling carbon dioxide concentrations over the past 420 million years and comparing the calculations with a proxy record. From the results it is concluded that climate sensitivity greater than 1.5 degree Celsius has probably been a robust feature of the Earth's climate system over the past 420 million years regardless of temporal scaling.

Carbon loss by deciduous trees in a CO(sub)2-rich ancient polar environment
Article Abstract:
Research demonstrates that the quantity of carbon lost annualy by shedding a deciduous canopy is much greater than that lost by evergreen trees, regardless of the growth carbon dioxide concentration. Data indicate that the loss is due to winter time respiration and leaf fall. The deciduous nature of the mature forests persists in regions of long polar winter.
